Short version: OffRead stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. There is no account required to use the app.

2. Data We Collect
We collect no personal data. OffRead operates entirely offline. All information you enter — books, reading sessions, notes, goals, and statistics — is stored exclusively in a SQLite database (offread.db) on your device.
This database is never transmitted to OffLift's servers or any third-party service.
3. Permissions We Request
OffRead requests the following system permissions, used solely for on-device features:
- Photo Library (iOS & Android) — Used only when you choose to save your weekly reading card image to your camera roll. The app never reads from your photo library.
- Push Notifications (iOS & Android) — Used to send local reading reminders you configure inside the app. These notifications are generated on-device and never pass through OffLift servers.
All permissions are optional. The core reading timer works without any permissions.
4. Third-Party Services
OffRead v1 does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services.
The optional online book search feature queries the Open Library API and the Google Books API. When this feature is enabled, your search query is sent to these services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies. The online search feature is disabled by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Since all data lives on your device, you control it entirely. To delete all data, uninstall the app or delete the offread.db file via your device's storage manager. OffLift has no copy of your data and cannot recover it on your behalf.
6. Children's Privacy
OffRead is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, this applies equally to all users.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
